Garmin launches a brand new look ahead to long-distance operating
While statistics don't make a run or break, there's nothing more annoying than realizing that your watch has gone down in the long run, especially when you're tracking your training for a race. We were very excited about Garmin's Enduro: the new ultra-performance GPS watch for ultra runners.
It has an impressive 80 hours of battery life powered by Garmin's solar technology – ideal for back-to-back long distance runs (especially if, like us, you regularly forget to charge your tech), as well as ultra-events and multi-event day races.
Enduro also offers a whole range of smart technologies to help us run. ClimbPro helps us to accelerate current and upcoming ascents and descents, while Trail Run VO2 Max continuously adapts our VO2 Max to the terrain and the altitude. And it continues even after you stop – the built-in recovery advisor tells you how long to rest after you run, and tracks sleep and other wellness metrics to improve performance and prevent injuries.
The lightweight and durable design is ideal for longer runs as it does not weigh you down and can be effectively tracked anywhere thanks to its navigation functions that can access multiple global satellite systems.
Retailing for around £ 699 is definitely an investment. However, if you're an ultra runner or want to do your workout over long distances, its features may be worth the extra expense – so you can keep your focus on your run rather than yours.
