In January, PWBA kicked off the 2021 season with a weeklong series of tournaments in Texas that included three national title events and one regional event. The PWBA Kickoff Classic was unlike any other event to date, largely due to the ongoing pandemic. Athletes were required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test prior to arriving for the event. Upon arrival, they were provided with their food in a PWBA bladder in a hotel. The bowlers went to the USBC International Training and Research Center to compete, but they were not allowed to go anywhere else to ensure the safety of all participants. They also took COVID-19 tests during the week to make sure no one went positive during the event.
The PWBA required a lot of planning and preparation to hold this event, for which the participants were very grateful. For this round table discussion, we caught up with some of the players who participated in the PWBA Kickoff Classic to hear their experiences and ask them what they will be working on until the next event in April when the regular tour resumes for the Spring / summer season.
Editor's Note: The format of the "PWBA Round Table" column is to ask questions that the readers and staff of Bowling This Month asked several top PWBA bowlers and they respond in a "round robin" style allow. If you would like to submit questions about the exam in our future Round Table articles, please click here.

What were your most important insights from the first PWBA events of the year?
My most important insights from the first PWBA event were eye-opening! Since it was so different from our "usual", I honestly didn't have any expectations for the eleven-day event. I didn't think of a win or a result. I was just really happy to be there and to keep up. I think that helped me have such a successful week, and so will I.
