United in a good place

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side scored a healthy 2-0 second leg after Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes took comfortable wins every half in Spain. With the return leg at home, United's position could hardly be stronger and they have made a strong recovery in this competition after the disappointment of being eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage.

Domestically, too, things are looking good for Solskjaer, who, despite the pressure during the season, is almost certain that he will have delivered the club's Champions League football next season. While Man City is out of sight at the top of the EPL, United are in second place seven points ahead of third-placed Leicester.

Revenge for United in North London

Over the weekend, United retaliated 6-1 against Spurs at Old Trafford when they won 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood. It was the Red Devils' third win on the spin, but what should be even more worrying for Granada is the fact that United are unbeaten in eight games at Old Trafford.

However, the Spaniards will cling to the fact that in the Europa League most of United's big wins have been away from home and Real Sociedad and AC Milan have both drawn in Manchester in previous rounds. The reality, however, is that United made 21 progress in the first leg in the second leg of a European draw.

Granada is fading after an outstanding season

Granada's season has been excellent both domestically and in Europe and even if they lose this draw it shouldn't detract from the great job Diego Martinez has done for the Spanish Minnows. Disappointingly, the Nazarenes' season has ended lately and their loss to United was their fourth straight in all competitions. However, at the weekend they were able to prevent their slump in La Liga with a nice 2-1 comeback win over Real Valladolid. Goals from Jorge Molina and Quini.

The Valladolid win was on time as it not only boosted confidence ahead of the trip to Old Trafford, but also ended a miserable run of five away games without a win. While United remains a daunting game away for Granada, the weekend win at least puts them back in the game with another leap – one that gradually faded as their chances of securing European football for 2021-22 fizzled out out.

What the Spaniards also have in their favor is a fascinating record that they have scored at least once in each of their last 12 away games in all competitions. something they of course have to do at Old Trafford to make progress. If somehow they can get an early lead it could turn out to be a very interesting evening

Manchester United versus Granada Best Bets

Unsurprisingly United are betting on the home win and, to be fair, pushing for a comeback in Granada is tough, although that early goal could make it a competition. However, if Solskjaer's men can remain solid early on, this could be a pleasant evening for them and not rule out a repeat of the first leg standings.

Pick: Man Utd wins 2-0 (+550)
