After an impressive start to their east coast journey, the Phoenix Suns saw the end of their first loss in three games since January.
To avoid this, they have to win in New York against the Knicks, who are aiming for their 10th win in a row.
If that sounds irritating, imagine the odds makers trying to get in the way: even with the Suns playing in the second half of a tackle and the Knicks skyrocketing, Phoenix is still a 2-point favorite on the Road.

Suns burned for successive losses
After beating Milwaukee with the third seed and Philly with the second seed to open the voyage, the Suns took two pretty definitive Ls.
In Boston on Friday night, the Suns failed to fire a shot and dropped a 97-86 decision. They were only 6 against 35 out of the three-point range and had 17 sales. It was the second time in four games that they couldn't crack 100 points. They had only done that once before the entire season.
I asked Kevin Durant if the suns were a measuring stick game for the nets: "I think we were a measuring stick for them."

Against Sunday in Brooklyn, they could not stop the offensive attack. Freshly returned Kevin Durant had 34 points while Kyrie Irving added 33 and 12 assists when Brooklyn crossed between 128 and 119 in this potential preview of the final. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 36 points while Deandre Ayton had 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Chris Paul, who had 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against Boston, was held on 14 points, eight assists and four board against the Nets.
Now, between 42 and 18, the Suns are two games behind the Utah Jazz for first place in the Western Conference, with 12 games in the season.
Not only did Phoenix seize the chance to play in a game against Utah when Jazz lost to T-Wolves on Saturday, but they are now connected to Clippers, who owns the tiebreaker through #Suns.

Jae Crowder, who was out of the last two games with an ankle injury, is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Knicks. Dario Saric, who was also outside on Sunday with a sore ankle, should leave on Monday.
Knicks' Offense Clicking
What a ride for the New York Basketball Knicks.
They ripped off nine straight wins to bring seven games over .500 at 34-27 into sole possession of fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
New York has changed its luck this year with an elite defense that ranks first in allowable points (104.7 per game) and in both field goal shooting defense (44.2%) and 3 Points-Shooting-D (33.7%) comes first).
The Knicks have not been in the playoffs since the Carmelo Anthony era. You are currently fourth in the East and have a winning streak of 9 games. Can someone explain why Julius Randle is not on the #MVP ladder? 🤨

However, the final run was not dominated by defense, although they ranked seventh in terms of points allowed and three point defense. It is her suddenly strong offense that has borne her. In the last nine games, New York has accumulated 118.6 points per game, which takes fourth place in this sample, and a significant increase from the usual 106.9 points per night (26th).
They also found the reach from downtown, hitting a clip of 41.7%, which is second, and 48.3% from the field, which is the sixth best during this series.

The catalyst for the whole year was forward Julius Randle, and he was again on his last win over the Raptors with 31 points and 10 boards while drilling 5 of 7 from downtown. This is the sixth game he has played for over 30 in the series, including a pair of 40 bombs in wins against the Hawks and Mavericks.

RJ Barrett, who emerged as a star pal, had 25 points, 12 boards, and four assists against the Raptors. While he scored 17.8 points per game in April, compared to 20.2 in March, his extended range makes a difference in the spacing of the Knicks. By April, Barrett will combine 49.3% of his 5.5 three-point attempts per game.

What's the best bet?
Despite the recent stumbling blocks, Phoenix are still 8-2 in their last ten games against the Eastern Conference and 18-8 this season against the East. This is the second best brand of any team outside of Utah. While they're only 1-4-1 ATS in their last six, they're 4-1 both straight up and ATS against the Knicks. You also have a 10-4 mark in the second half of a back-to-back.
But the Knicks have been a weather dream lately. They had a 10-0 mark against the spread in their last 10 games, including a 7-0 mark at ATS in their last seven home games. Let's ride the Knicks wave and see where it takes us.
The choice: Knicks +2 (-110)
