Ja Morant's rise from Murray State to the NBA has both fascinated and inspired basketball fans around the world. However, before being named 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year or leading the Memphis Grizzlies to the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season, Morant was just a small-town kid growing up in South Carolina, playing on a concrete court built in his back yard. And it was on this square that his basketball journey began.
Morant's story is captured in the six-part documentary series PROMISELAND, which airs June 3rd on Crackle. Directed by Dexton Deboree (Unbanned: The Legend of AJ1), the film tells the "Coming of Age" story of Morant's upbringing in the south and his later rise to become an NBA star.
