Calhanoglu verify stunning transfer from Inter on a free switch from Milan
Hakan Calhanoglu has confirmed he will join Inter from Milan without shock.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Turkish international has basically agreed on a three-year contract with the Serie A champions.
The deal is said to be worth more than the offer from Milan, who had hoped to extend his contract, which expires next week.
Speaking to TRT Spor on the Monday before his return to Italy, Calhanoglu said: “I have reached an agreement with Inter. I'll sign the contract tomorrow. "
Calhanoglu made 172 appearances for Milan after leaving Bayer Leverkusen in 2017.
He played in all three of Turkey's group games at Euro 2020 when they lost to Italy, Wales and Switzerland.
Calhanoglu scored 32 goals and provided 42 assists for Milan in all competitions, averaging one direct goal in just over two games.
Last season he created 98 chances in Serie A, the highest number of any player in the five best leagues in Europe. Inter's top chance creator in the league in the 2020/21 season was Romelu Lukaku at 52.
Among the players in the highest Italian league, only Rodrigo De Paul (10.27) had a higher expected number of assists than Calhanoglu (8.47), although the Milanese had made three fewer appearances.
After Mevlut Erdinc (92), Nihat Kahveci (76) and Halil Altintop (67), he is one of only four Turkish players who have been playing since the turn of the 21st century.
