Los Angeles FC – Seattle Sounders Three-Zero: LAFC with an emphatic victory in play-off place
Los Angeles FC moved up to the MLS play-off position with a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders on Tuesday.
The win brought LAFC to 44 points, putting them ahead of the Vancouver Whitecaps in terms of goal differential for the seventh and final play-offs of the Western Conference.
Vancouver, however, have one game ahead of them and ninth Real Salt Lake (42 points) have played two games less than Los Angeles, so there is still a lot of work to do for head coach Bob Bradley's team.
Still, they'll be pleased with the all-round performance on Tuesday when Jamal Blackman made a clean bow and three different players found the net.
Brian Rodriguez opened in the 21st minute with a shot past Stefan Frei, while Latif Blessing scored a decisive goal in stoppage time of the first half and Cristian Arango secured the win from distance in the 51st minute.
Seattle remains at the top of the Western Conference with 58 points but continues to struggle with three losses and one draw from their last four games as the play-offs draw near.
